Jurisdictional approaches to sustainable resource use

The motivation for this study came from some experience at conferences that I attended for my previous role at the High Conservation Value Network. Almost every other panel discussion or session somehow used the term 'jurisdictional approach' or 'landscape approach' - it was the buzz-word of the conferences. Interestingly, when asking the participants what exactly a jurisdictional approach is, I received widely varying answers which included references to REDD+, eco-certification, government-involvement, and the Paris Agreement. This discrepancy made me really curious, and after some deliberation and consultation with my advisor Eric Lambin, we decided that his should be the first study of my Ph.D.
